WHEN TO GO FISHING AT LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Many people ask what time of the year has the best fishing. That question is hard to answer. November is an excellent month with numerous large fish caught, but winter can be great also with large spawning fish moving in and readily available. Winter is good in between cold fronts. Spring and summer are excellent too, especially for catching large numbers on artificial lures. There is no wrong time for bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee.

Capt. Bob also offers artificial fishing trips but highly recommends shiners, especially if you’re coming from afar and for a shorter stay. Artificial fishing can be challenging, especially if clients are not familiar with fishing in heavy vegetation. Cant. Bob enjoys leading instructional trips for tournament fishermen or weekend anglers.
For the tournament angler, Capt. Bob offers one on one instructional trips as well. Anglers that have boats often times hire Capt.
